Shine & Shimmer

Hi my Harlet Lilies, 

So in addition to this being a personal style blog my primary goal is to always empower women. Because lets face it not many people just come up to you in this thing called womanhood & give liberating empowering words throughout life. Sometimes folks see women who are standing in their confidence & shinning brighter than the brightest star as "cocky" or undeserving of that light. Sadly for what ever personal reasons they find this to be awkward. As if we as humans in general don't go through enough difficult situations to every now and again spruce ourselves up and enjoy life (imagine that). But being a woman I can only speak from my own personal experience. Long story short a recent event I attended I got some mixed emotions about my choice of outfit. I was told I need to be more appropriate (what ever the hell that means). Like always I brushed it off and enjoyed my evening. However I woke up with it burning so vivid in my mind I had to speak on it. 

Without any further delay the outfit that caused the "commotion"

What NOT to wear

Holiday weekend coming. Not just any but the most patriotic of them all Fourth of July. For those that celebrate with the tradition of proudly displaying that bold red,white & blue this post is for you!( hey that rhymed) lol. Now if your in my generation 25+ club Im specifically talking to YOU. No flashy flag garb. It's........expected. Show your country pride and still look like a sensible adult. 

Example:

Instead of flags on every part of your body opt for an all denim look. Nothing else screams summer/4th of July like beautiful hues of blue. Ladies you can also drive the point home with a red pointed pump/sling-back/boat shoe. Or add a cute clutch for a real feminine look. 

Just please for all that is holy NO flags.

Today's post is all about summer essentials and my top 5 picks on how to keep you fresh faced and feeling fine all summer long!! We all want to look our best and feel even better. In what can be very hot & humid tempertures. I hope my picks on some of my favs become your go to choices also!

1st up a satin supple peach colored lipstick. This one is from your local Target cosmestic aisle (peachie perfect:Revlon) 

Next we have a rounded oversized pair of Sunnies. Which in my opinion EVERY women should own. This pair I found on sale for 10 bucks at h&m.

Ok moving right along we have a forgotten but super important summer must-have! A great mani & pedi! Ladies we work hard, we cook, we clean...we owe it to ourselves to keep hands and feet maintained. Also please invest in yourself and tey home mani&pedis. You can get as creative as you like! It's really fun also :) (polish AVON&OPI) 

To piggie back on my last post about swimwear you aren't really living life unless you have a great bathing suit! Again look for support, fit and flattery of course ;). My new trend for swimwear now is anything with a neon pop to it.(f21.com/plus) 

Last but not least. A kick ass pair of heels. The higher the better. Go all out ladies. Here is where I say splurge. Good quality footwear is the essence of a woman(lol). These babies were ordered online nastygal.com UNIF brand.
