Birthday Attire...Curves & All

Curves on display for my 26th birthday and damn proud of it. I mean honestly who doesn't love a velvet crop top and leggings. I felt so sexy and confident which allowed me to OWN my look. Key to looking fabulous at all times is to embrace what you have and finding pieces to enhance what you want. Being curvy no longer means hiding in the shadows feeling like your not good enough. A message to my curvy divas and women in general feel great about every aspect on your body even the ones you want to improve on....being a woman is no easy task but being a confident person is VERY achievable . Never let a soul steal your shine. After all "baby we were born this way".

The have and have me nots!

Hi guys,

Sooooo (yes all those o's were needed...lol) I wanted to talk about the staples that every grown woman should have in their wardrobe. I mean we can't call ourselves fashionistas if we're not abreast on current fashion trends. Now being aware of the trend doesn't mean being "trendy". So below I'll give you items any girl would love to have and how to rock..oh also where to purchase! Clearly I'm happy :-)

1. Pumps- no matter if there patent leather, suede, colored blocked, cap toed...etc. these babies are going to last if good quality and you can wear them to numerous events i.e.: wedding, job interviews..you know. And I really don't trust a woman with bad shoes guys(Nordstrom, lolashoetique.com & frenchconnection.com)
2. Denim, denim and more denim- now denim has made the biggest comeback Brittney Spears when she had her episode and shaved her head bald! I mean it's everywhere on shirts, bags, shoes of course jeans themselves. And when done right you feel the stars have aligned just for you.( almost any thrift store, H&M and MACY's)
3. LBD!!!- I mean that's kind of a given. With all the varieties and brands you can purchase a little black dress the options are literally endless. Think slick, form fitting and please ladies stay true to you and your personality. Don't buy any garment that's ill fitting trust me it'll show. From date night with that special someone, to power meetings at the job the LBD does it all folks! (Philip Lim for Target, f 21, f21.com)
4. Leather jacket- coveted really. A great leather jacket can take a outfit from good to great in minutes. Feel free to splurge as this piece will be around when Christ returns again..but no really. Also feel free to go all out I talking fringe, zippers, tattered and worn..the more personal details the better.(local thrift store, gap.com, nastygal.com)
5.Maxi skirt- Ok so these babies have came a long way also. First they are completely versatile. From more laid back and relaxed with sandals and tanks to pleated maxi's with heels and draped blouses. Nothing this here piece can do no wrong( old navy, Delia, f21)
6.Over sized clutch bag- Now I love me a good bag but I don't always want to carry a big hobo bag. So I feel a oversized clutch is a good option for this. When we think clutch we think small and weird to carry but not the larger ones that have been popping up lately, There great and functional and some even have a strap as well. (American apparel, gap, Besty Johnson, f21)
7.Statement jewelry- Ok now here is here the fun happens. Make a statement with an amazing pair of intricate earrings, a great bold cocktail ring, stacked bangles and of course the statement over sized necklace! Keep in mind do only 1(ONE) of these things you don't want to have your accessories fighting with each other guys so tread with caution. (Dylanlex, Fire and Ice, H&M)
8. Riding boots- Chic essential riding boots. Not to be mistaken for just winter wear...I love mine in the spring with great shorts and a chunky knit sweater, classic with jeans and your favorite blazer. (asos.com, gojane.com, DSW, TJ Maxx)
9.Trousers- Who can go wrong in  a great trouser pant. Now to all my curvy women don't shy away from this. When done right it slims you to perfection. And for my more slim athletic bodies go with high waist to give you curves out of this world. (Rachel Zoe Collection at Bloomingdales, Gap, Old Navy)
10. Sunglasses- Ok so this is my favorite item on the list by far. I mean I don't leave home without a pair. Everything from cat eyes, rounded spectacles  even boxed sunnies with a funky designs on the frame. They give you a certain sexiness and in my opinion finishes of any ensemble perfectly.(urban outfitters, Nordstrom,f21.com)

As always my loves enjoy your fashion your way, Stay true to yourself and keep an entire bottle of CONFIDENCE to spray on before leaving the house! :-)) #HARLET

pattern, textures and prints OH MY!

Hi Guys,

So today I worked with a client who like many women are leery about mixing and matching different print, patterns and textures. However mixing doesn't not mean messy! Think beautiful velvet pants with a silk Teal blouse and animal print pump! Other tips are if your doing two separate prints try to keep them in the same color family. By doing this you'll look chic and you won't be mistaken for the girl who got dressed in the dark. Over all guys keep it simple, keep it fun and once more be true to self...p.s "walk up in the b*tch like you own the hoe" Rihanna :)

1 + 1=2! one piece worn 2 ways

Hi to all my Harlet Lillie's I've missed you all so much! Okay so I'm back giving you fashion is the freezing cold. It's definitely feeling a lot like winter around in these parts Baltimore MD to be exact. With that said many are wondering what to wear to holiday parties and how to keep the fashion without the flub in this cold. So I was inspired to show exactly that! With both looks I featured a abstract skirt worn separate ways.
The first look is my personal favorite because it was " street styled" Which to me means being true to yourself and wearing what makes you feel confident. So I paired my skirt with funky denim and trendy wedge sneakers. Pile on tons of silver and out for drinks with friends you go.( entire look f21.com)
Now for the second look. Remember guys same skirt just more polished and chic here(entire outfit f21.com/ shoes lolashoetique.com). This look will definitely have you on Santa's NICE list!Guaranteed to give any woman the confidence she needs by hiding what she doesn't like and amplifying what she loves..fyi peplums done right ROCK. I kept it simple on accessories because I didn't want anything to up-stage the clothes. However feel free to add a statement necklace and tons bangles. And remember guys the best thing you can wear is confidence..... until next time!!!! XO
