So your all dressed up feeling and looking like a million bucks. Suddenly you look at your nails and their a mess. YES I said it your nails are one of the most overlooked accessories ever.  Now manis and pedis have come along way. From traditional French manicures to everything from jewels and stencils. I always say keep just like your style keep your nails true to your personality. And for me the more fun and creative the better. Go all out be daring and bold just remember that your nails too make a statement. So grab your favorite polish and go to town #realwomenpolishtheirownnails :))

Spring into action

Today is Sunday and you know what that means. OOTD post from me for you with lots of L.O.V.E!!!! Alright so although it is brutally cold and blah looking here in Baltimore I decided to a start on spring looks and ideas for you all. Now if you saw my post last week (which I know all my faithful readers did) you'll notice that I began giving you looks to transition your favorite winters pieces to spring and summer. So this post is just an extension of that. Enjoy my blossom buds :)

Hi All my HARLET lilies I cannot express how I've missed you so. I mean balancing a ft job/school and building a brand is hard work. But I promise to never stay gone that long EVER again!!!!!!. Anyways on today's topic I decided to do a little something different. Instead of me in the garments I pieced them together from a mix of winter/spring/summer looks combines. Yes I'm that girl who does not shop or organize her closet according to season. I go with what moves me and make it work. Like I'm sure all of my readers will do after this post. It's very simple here let me show you:

 Ok so look number 1: Alright ladies we all have one of some shape and fashion in the closet. A HUGE trend for last year as well its the peplum dress paired with your boyfriend or beau men's sweatshirt and layered with a classic feminine touch of a silk white blouse underneath. This look does 2 things. 1 being giving you a way to "renew" a trend we've seen thousands of times and 2 is allowing you to incorporate some of your winter pieces in a more modern way than just the old sweats and jeans! Breakdown- Abercrombie and Fitch sweatshirt(prior to the not so pleasant comments they made about + size folks), silk blouse (I forget sorry guys lol), black peplum dress my secret spot, shoes lolashoetique.com, purse thrift find.

 Alright now this look is for my girl who always wants to look good but not spend hours getting ready. She has paired her boyfriend fit knee slashed jeans with a great summer sheer blouse and strappy heels. Giving her the trend with the jeans and still staying true to her get up and go personality. Wear this to brunch with the girls. Breakdown: forever21 jeans, target shoes and blouse, blazer thrift find and jewelry personal collection!

And lastly my girl who likes to go out and have a good time. Let me start by saying this with love. Ladies leggings aren't always the only thing you can wear out and feel sexy in. This number is ORIGINAL and sexy. I mean what more could you want have fun, dance the night away and feel great doing so. Go more daring and leave the cardi off if your anything like me it wouldn't make it out the door ;). Breakdown: American Apparel bodysuit, h and m faux leather skirt, forever21 animal print cardigan, shoes lolashoetique and excuse the shoe pads(those suckers are slippery) jewelry personal collection!

Every ensemble is adorbs and fun with a flirty twist. Have fun with your fashion and be sure you keep all your old winter wear to transition those pieces. Nothing is off limits. We're HARLET lilies we have no damn limits!!

So we all know that the most romantic holiday is coming around slowly but surely. So this OOTD post is dedicated to channeling you inner QUEEN/ sexy beast monster :). Ladies you have nothing to be ashamed of when it comes to feeling and looking sexy/desirable/enticing..etc. Too often we hide in the shadows and give other cultures such praise. NOT knowing they want our curves, thick thighs and behinds, full lips...and golden skin. I say all of that too exemplify how got damn attractive WE are. So on this Valentine day and every day make your SOS remember exactly why you allow them to exist in YOUR world. Put this dress on and let it do the talking whether your prancing around letting them see all they will miss out on or preparing for a night of fun and passion with your beau. it's not all glitz and glamour....

Hi to all my beautiful HARLET lilies. As you know I'm Markia and today I'd love to talk with you about another topic that I feel passionately about. I like many of my readers live in the inner city where violence becomes normal to hear about just like listening to the radio is for some. Now this isn't to say violence doesn't occur everywhere and this post isn't meant to create paranoia or fear into anyone. But what I would like to do is initiate change in the way we all think. Which will change our actions.
 I'm too feed up of hearing about gangs and more murder on the news than actual informative topics. I'm no activist but I do have a voice and I can't keep silent anymore. The prison that we send all the bad guys/girls to just become a playground for them. But not a soul cares for them because their labeled as "trouble". All the while some are being tortured by gang members, beaten, sold for sexual favors as property, raped by other inmates and staff but no one cares about those issues. The fashion industry can be very superficial and one dimensional. Hell sometimes we forget that others need our help because they don't have a voice for themselves and I will gladly help in anyway possible to make society more humane.
I pray that this post touches the heart of some one and provokes the change we're all capable of making. I love life, god, family and fashion. I just want to see my peers enjoy their destiny in life while reaching back to move forward(Sankofa). I love every single last 1 of my followers and I challenge you to pay that love forward to someone else and see how far life takes you.
